Binne ‘n week moet ons soveel as moontlik proppies bymekaar
DOELWIT
*** Elke proppie maak 'n verskil.
KHS CARES!
FLASH
BOTTLE CAP COLLECTION DRIVE
Don't throw away your cooldrink bottle caps – they could
help a little boy get the specially adapted wheelchair he needs!
Only one week left
Laerskool
Middelburg's bottle cap collection drive runs until 30 July, which
means we have just one week left to collect as many plastic bottle
caps and lids as possible!
Hoërskool Kanonkop is encouraging all our learners, parents and the wider community to get involved. Every cap collected will be donated to Alma School, where they are weighed and recycled.
Partnership
'Through a partnership with BDS Plastico, the recycled plastic is purchased from Alma School. Instead of exchanging the caps for a standard wheelchair, the funds generated from the sale of the plastic are being saved to buy Jan-Renier Jansen van Rensburg a specially adapted wheelchair that is custom-built to meet his physical and support needs.
We are proud to
support this initiative alongside Laerskool Middelburg teacher, Ms Danika Uys.
The project is especially close to her heart because Jan-Renier is originally
from Pongola
– the town where she grew up.
GOAL
The goal is to
collect 22
000kg of plastic bottle caps. So far, approximately 6 000kg
has been collected, so every single cap counts.
Bring your clean plastic bottle caps and lids to school this week and help us make the final week of the campaign a huge success.
****Every bottle cap makes a difference. Every kilogram collected brings
Jan-Renier one step closer to receiving the specially adapted wheelchair he
needs, while also helping to protect the environment through recycling.
